Solo Magicka Nightblade Build



Though it isn’t my favorite build to solo on, it is my main. The damage output is pretty good, survivability is comfortable and the sustain is alright. There isn’t really much wrong with the build, asides from lacking AoE damage. However, this is simply due to the nightblade’s single-target oriented toolkit.

I regularly use this build to solo veteran and sometimes even hardmode dungeons. It’s a breeze to run in the veteran arenas too.


Pros:
• Massive single-target damage.
• Self-healing spammable.
• Powerful execute ability.

Cons:
• Lack of AoE damage.
• No burst heal.


Overview

RACE:


Khajiit are generally the best choice, due to their massive bonus to critical damage and healing. This is nicely complimented by their passives for max attributes and recoveries.

Orcs come in second, as they have a passive that provides some solid extra healing, along with extra max health and speed. They also provide extra damage.

High Elves provide extra resource recovery, which can be quite a blessing for this build. Additionally, they provide extra damage.

All other races are fully viable too.


MUNDUS:


The Thief is best choice, especially if you're running Khajiit. It provides extra critical chance, which compliments the Khajiit's critical damage passive.

The Lover may be a better choice, if you're not running Khajiit. The extra penetration is great to have when dealing with sturdier opponents.

FOOD/DRINK:


Mistral Banana-Bunny Hash - Max Health and Max Magicka. This is the best buff food in most instances, as the extra health prevents you from being too squishy.

Witchmother's Potent Brew - Max Health, Max Magicka and Magicka Recovery. This makes for a good alternative to the prior suggestion, if you're struggling with sustain. It also scales to your level.


POTION:

Essence of Spell Power - Crafted using; Cornflower, Lady's Smock and Namira's Rot. Or bought at Guild Traders.

Skills

Front Bar


Swallow Soul (Siphoning / Strife) - This is your main spammable skill. It also provides you with plenty of healing. Make sure to proc it every ten seconds during the execute phase, to keep up the healing effect.

Impale (Assassination / Assassin's Blade) - This is your execute ability. You'll start using this when the enemy drops below 25% health.

Merciless Resolve (Assassination / Grim Focus) - You'll want to have this ticking constantly during combat. After every five light attacks, you can proc the ability for massive burst damage and healing. Alternatively, you can just keep the stacks for a buff to your overall damage. This is advised during the execute phase.

Inner Light (Mages Guild / Magelight) - This is just slotted for its passive bonuses. It grants extra Max Magicka and Magicka Recovery.

Ambush (Assassination / Teleport Strike) - This provides massive buffs and debuffs to you and the enemy respectively. Increasing your damage done and increasing their damage taken. The Empower buff also blends well with the Crushing Wall staff.

Incapacitating Strike (Assassination / Death Stroke) - Slotting this ultimate brings in magicka and stamina every time you light or heavy attack, providing a lot of the necessary sustain for this build. When you proc it, it deals massive burst damage and debuffs the enemy. Two birds, one stone.

Back Bar


Twisting Path (Shadow / Path of Darkness) - This is one of our hardest hitting DoTs. You want to try keep this up consistently, especially during boss fights.

Unstable Wall of Elements (Destruction Staff / Wall of Elements) - This skill does a bunch of things for us. Provided your running a lightning staff, it puts enemies off balance. It procs Crushing Wall's buff. And, it's also a solid DoT skill.

Elemental Drain (Destruction Staff / Weakness to Elements) - This skill reduces the target's resistances and recovers a bit of magicka every second, helping with your resource sustain.

Inner Light (Mages Guild / Magelight) - This is just slotted for its passive bonuses. It grants extra Max Magicka and Magicka Recovery.

Siphoning Attacks (Siphoning / Siphoning Strikes) - This skill provides some extra healing, along with much needed magicka recovery. Failing to keep this skill ticking, will almost certainly result in you running out of magicka.

Incapacitating Strike (Assassination / Death Stroke) - You don't need this on the back bar, but I'd recommended it. It helps keep your resources in check.

RED passives are optional, but highly recommended. They don’t improve the combat performance of the build, but they can make other aspects of the game more enjoyable.


Champion Points
